Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, appearing on the Pat McAfee Show Friday, had some words of encouragement for backup Jordan Love.

Rodgers expressed optimism for the Packers and Jordan Love. Love will be making his first career start in the NFL Sunday after Aaron Rodgers failed a COVID-19 test earlier this week.
There was a lot of uncertainty surrounding Rodgers' future with Green Bay after they drafted Love. Green Bay had reached the NFC Championship the season prior. Many people expected the Packers to use the draft to fill holes the 49ers ran through in the aforementioned championship game.
Instead, the Packers traded up to draft Love in the first round. That left a lot of people shaking their head, Rodgers included.
Rodgers stats had slightly declined for a few seasons, and Green Bay apparently was looking toward the future. However, Rodgers returned to form last season. He threw for 4,299 yards, 48 touchdowns and only 5 interceptions, on his way to winning his third league MVP.
Article Continues BelowHe had the Packers in great position following a road win at previously undefeated Arizona last week. Following his failed COVID test, questions surrounding his vaccination status became a topic of discussion.
That prompted him to appear on the Pat McAfee Show, in hopes to clear some things up.
Rodgers said he hopes for a “conversation, not controversy,” according to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport.
