The Green Bay Packers are coming off a win against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving Day. The Packers have now put themselves in a position to win the NFC as they take on the current No. 1 seed, the Chicago Bears, this weekend. The Packers are 8-3-1 and take on a 9-3 Bears team that has been playing very well.
During the Thanksgiving game, Packers defensive lineman Devonte Wyatt injured his ankle and was carted off the field. The injury looked bad right away, and it was reported that he fractured the ankle, which will end his season. On Friday, the Packers officially put Wyatt on injured reserve.
In 10 games this season, Wyatt has 27 tackles on the year with four sacks. The former Georgia star is a big part of the Packers' defense, and they will have difficulties replacing him. Star defensive edge rusher Micah Parsons is ready to dominate the Bears.
“Rivalries are for the people, it’s for the fans,” Parsons said, per Ryan Wood. “For me, it’s just going out there and just dominating. I just don’t like them because I just see like the disrespect. I play for respect. You know how to earn someone’s respect is beating the [expletive] out of them.”
Green Bay saw receivers Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden return to practice this week. That is a big step in the right direction for an offense that has the ability to explode. Quarterback Jordan Love has a real chance to lead his team to a big playoff run.
