NFL training camps can get lively, and not just with football. With playing time, roster spots, and a future in football in-store, adrenaline and testosterone can take over in frustrating times, often leading to fights. In Green Bay, that's just what happened, as Packers safety Josh Jones got in a tussle in practice, according to multiple reports.

Reportedly, Jones hit running back Tra Carson after the play stopped, which sparked a feud between the two. The safety didn't return to practice after, as head coach Matt LeFleur decided to bench him.

As he told Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette:

“I told him to get out at that particular moment.”

The coach also noted that his tenure with the Packers would contain a “zero-tolerance policy,” which Jones broke, due to the fight.

Jones' frustrations with the team stem from a trade request made in June, that, ultimately, hasn't been granted. The reason likely being that the Packers spent considerable assets to upgrade his position. Former Chicago Bear Adrian Amos was added in the free agency period, while Darnell Savage Jr. was selected in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Jones previously missed the Packers' voluntary offseason workouts. A second-round pick in 2017 from N.C. State, Jones has started 12 games with the Packers in two seasons. His NFL stat line goes as follow; 122 total tackles, seven for loss, three QB hits, seven pass deflections, and an interception. Before the fight, Jones looked the part of a valuable safety to the new additions.

After, his future in Green Bay is all but guaranteed.
