The Green Bay Packers are rolling this season, going 9-3 which is first in the NFC North. But, that hasn't come without dealing with their fair share of injuries, specifically to defensive players.

David Bakhtiari, Jaire Alexander, and Za'Darius Smith, who are all important pieces to the Packers, have missed extended time due to injury. However, head coach Matt LaFleur teased their possible return in Week 14 against the Chicago Bears. Via Ryan Wood of the Green Bay Press-Gazette:

To put the Packers' defense into perspective, they're allowing the fifth-fewest points per game and are extremely efficient when it comes to containing their opponents on the ground and in the air.

Bakhtiari hasn't played all season after undergoing ACL surgery earlier this year and is one of the best tackles in the game. Smith meanwhile, is a monster at linebacker and has also been out for all but one game in 2021. Lastly, Alexander, arguably their best cornerback, is currently sidelined with a shoulder problem. The 24-year-old last suited up in Week 3.

All three of these players are All-Pros and would bring a massive boost to an already scary defense. While there are no guarantees they play this weekend, it appears it's only a matter of time.

The Packers are definitely shaping up to be a Super Bowl contender at the best possible time.
