Aaron Rodgers and the Green Bay Packers improved to an 8-2 record following their impressive 17-0 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10. While their campaign has been phenomenal, there are still major questions surrounding the team long-term. A lot of those questions have to do with the future of their franchise quarterback.

Throughout the offseason, rumors were rampant that Rodgers never wanted to play another game for the Packers. However, the two sides were able to come together on an agreement and a restructured contract to get the superstar signal-caller to play at least one more season with the squad.

But despite the agreement, many have believed that Rodgers, who recently recovered from COVID-19, could revisit trying to get out of Green Bay next offseason. No one truly knows what the future holds between the Packers and Rodgers at this point. In the meantime, there are some things to note about the situation.

Where Do The Packers And Rodgers Currently Stand?

Just a few weeks ago, Rodgers made open comments about the team's move to sign linebacker De'Vondre Campbell in the offseason. Campbell has been the leader of the Packers defense and has ended up being one of, if not the biggest offseason steal.

“I was talking on the sideline with; I don’t know if it was (Marquez Valdes-Scantling) or somebody else mid-game,” Rodgers recalled. “But we just said, how in the hell was this guy on the street?”

Following a big win over the Chicago Bears, Rodgers hinted once again at remaining with the Packers past this season. He stated that he didn't feel like it was the last time he was walking off the field after facing the Bears in the bitter rivalry between the two teams.

During a recent episode of the YouTube series The Pat McAfee Show, Rodgers was asked by host Pat McAfee his thoughts about possibly being the last time facing the Bears as a member of the Packers, the reigning MVP said “it didn't feel like the last time.”

Rodgers also had very positive things to say about the Packers going out and signing veteran pass-rusher Whitney Mercilus.

Most recently, Rodgers was quoted after the Packers beat the Seattle Seahawks talking about his team's efforts to sign wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. He was happy that his team was working to try to acquire OBJ. Unfortunately, Beckham ended up choosing to sign with the Los Angeles Rams, leaving Rodgers wondering what could have been.

“I think that we are obviously limited with our salary-cap situation. I'm not sure what he ended up signing for, but I've been friends with Odell for a long time and have so much respect for his talent and his ability, and I wish him the absolute best in LA. I think there was a lot of conversations around bringing him in, and for whatever reason it just wasn't the right fit. But I feel good about the fact that we were in the mix.”

Those comments are a breath of fresh air for Packers fans. Beckham was quoted as saying that he didn't feel that Green Bay was “all in” on signing him. In the past, Rodgers has been frustrated with the team's lack of care or effort to get good players.

Everything Looking Positive For Rodgers Staying In Green Bay

With everything in mind, the Packers have to be feeling good about their chances to keep Rodgers in town moving forward. He has been open and vocal about his pleasure with the way the team has handled business this season. He has also opened up about how much he has enjoyed playing this campaign.

Granted, things can change quickly on the business side of the NFL. Rodgers could enter the offseason and decide that he wants to start a new chapter of his career.

Despite the possibility that he could still want out, the Packers have made the right moves and included Rodgers in the right ways to make him happy. With the success that they have had this season, it would be a hard decision for the talented QB to leave at this point.

Thinking of Rodgers playing anywhere but Green Bay is a very weird thing. He belongs with the Packers and they are supposed to have him through the end of his career. Even though Jordan Love is waiting in the wings, the team must do everything it can to ensure to keep Rodgers until he hangs his jersey.

Expect to continue hearing speculations about Aaron Rodgers' future. We won't know for sure until the offseason, but right now all signs are pointing to him being happy with the direction the Packers are heading.
