The Jacksonville Jaguars are in the midst of a tough skid after dropping three out of their last four games that have put them out of the top spot in the AFC South.
Much of these struggles have levied criticism toward the offense with it laying on the shoulders of quarterback Blake Bortles being unable to provide consistent production that led to his benching during the 20-7 loss to the Houston Texans last Sunday. Despite all that chatter, Bortles has voiced that he isn't bothered in the least bit by all of that, according to Michael Silver of NFL.com.

When we play good, ‘The defense played well, the running back did good, the receivers made great plays.' And when we play bad, ‘Blake Bortles is the worst quarterback on the face of the planet.'
“And I get it. Obviously, that's not what I would have chosen for myself. And I'm sure it'll never stop. But I couldn't care less. I just want to win football games with this team.”
Although Bortles is working toward tuning out the outside noise, it difficult to ignore the type of struggles that he has had on the field this season as he has further regressed in his production and stability that he has brought to the offense over the years. Granted, part of that may be due to the absence of Pro Bowl running back Leonard Fournette due to a hamstring injury, but he has had a large amount of difficulty leading the offense.
This has now led to head coach Doug Marrone to essentially give him a short leash publicly because of Bortles' shortcomings on the field. He has failed to record more than 200 passing yards four times this season while throwing just nine touchdown passes to eight interceptions.
It has become a situation that is now completely on him to prove that he can be the quarterback that can lead the team to success not only this season but beyond that.
