There has been plenty of speculation regarding the future of cornerback Jalen Ramsey heading into Week 4 of the 2019 NFL season. Regardless, it seems they are still holding out hope for him to be available for their matchup against the Denver Broncos.
Ramsey is reportedly dealing with a back injury after missing practice all week due to a wide range of reasons. According to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk, he is listed as questionable versus Denver.
Ramsey is listed as questionable for that game. A back injury is the reason given for that status, although there are a variety of options that the team could have used.
It is safe to assume that Ramsey's current status may have more to do with his desire to be traded than the injury he is said to be nursing. After all, it has been quite an eventful week for the All-Pro corner after taking a sick day before leaving to witness the birth of his second child. It remains to be seen whether or not he will make the trip to Denver in Week 4.
Given all that has transpired with Ramsey as of late, the prospect of him staying with the Jaguars for much longer seems a bit far-fetched. Although the team has understandably put a high price tag on him during trade negotiations, there are rumors that their asking price may be too steep. Ramsey's absence could very well be an attempt to spur the front office to get a deal done in the near future.
