The Jacksonville Jaguars have continued to tumble south on a four-game losing streak that has pushed them out of the playoff picture entirely.

However, the Jaguars could be getting some much-needed help offensively with star running back Leonard Fournette going through his first individual drills since he reinjured his hamstring back in Week 4, according to Daniel Popper of The Athletic.

This is a significant step forward for Fournette as he has been on the mend over the last several weeks without a return date set in place. He has been limited significantly by the injury as he has played in just two games where he recorded 71 rushing yards on 20 attempts along with four catches for 19 receiving yards. This has put the Jaguars have had to lean on T.J. Yeldon along with recently acquired running back Carlos Hyde for production in the backfield, but that hasn't proven to be enough to help bring the stability to the ground game that Fournette has shown.

It has also put more pressure on quarterback Blake Bortles to carry the offense, which is something that he has had much difficulty doing over the course of the season. It has even led to him being benched while his long-term starting status with the franchise has been put into question. Bortles has been wildly inconsistent that has seen him become a liability in the pocket at times that has put his team in a bigger bind offensively.

Although this may just be an individual workout, it is certainly a step in the right direction for Fournette. His pending return to the lineup will provide a huge boost to the offense whenever that may be. Until then, this is a situation that Jacksonville will monitor closely that could possibly see him in play for this week depending on his activity in practice.
