As the 2020 offseason progresses for the Jacksonville Jaguars, they'll start looking even further in evaluating all aspects of the roster.

The Cincinnati Bengals, who hold the No. 1 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, are widely expected to draft LSU quarterback Joe Burrow. With that being said, Andy Dalton's future with the Bengals will be in jeopardy. Dalton is entering the final year of his contract and is due $17.7 million.

According to NFL.com’s Mike Silver, the Jaguars have an interest in signing Dalton.

“As he hunkers down like the majority of Americans, Dalton is doing his best not to obsess over where he might end up. The Jacksonville Jaguars — who hired his former Bengals offensive coordinator, Jay Gruden, to serve in that role in January — have interest in signing Dalton if the price is right. Dalton would likely be viewed as a backup plan should things not go smoothly with Gardner Minshew, a 2019 sixth-round pick who emerged as the starter last season.”

Jaguars offensive coordinator Jay Gruden played a vital role in developing Dalton. So it's no surprise the Jaguars would be interested in adding Dalton to their roster.

As of right now, the Jaguars only have two quarterbacks on their roster, Gardner Minshew and Joshua Dobbs. Minshew had a phenomenal season in the 2019 NFL campaign, recording 3,271  passing yards, 21 touchdowns, and only six interceptions. In addition, he led all rookie quarterbacks with an impressive six wins.

However, it's probably best to bring in another quarterback to compete with Minshew for the starting role.
