Free-agent guard Kyle Long is getting ready for his NFL comeback as he is set to pay a visit to a couple of teams in the offseason. According to ESPN‘s Adam Schefter, he will be meeting with the Las Vegas Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs in a bid to land a contract for 2021.

Long is no stranger to the Raiders as it was the same organization where his father, Howie, successfully made his mark in the league. The former defensive end was a second-round pick of the Raiders back in 1981 and eventually became one of the franchise's most decorated players.

The elder Long earned three first-team All-Pro selections, eight Pro Bowl appearances, and a Super Bowl XVIII title before landing in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in the year 2000.

Considering the stature of his father with the Raiders, Long will certainly be given a hard look by the organization and its decision-makers in the offseason. On the field, the 32-year-old lineman has already shown his capabilities as he earned a second-team All-Pro appearance along with three consecutive Pro Bowl selections during his time with the Chicago Bears from 2013 to 2019.

Coincidentally, the Raiders are also in dire need of capable pieces to slot in their underperforming offensive line. Additionally, starting quarterback Derek Carr will certainly benefit if the team manages to haul in the veteran's services for next season.

Afterward, Long will also be traveling to Kansas City to meet with the Chiefs, given that the team needs to acquire more talent for their offensive line ahead of next season. It remains to be seen which squad will give an opportunity to Kyle Long but the steps that he has taken certainly amplifies his desire to make a successful comeback on the gridiron in 2021.
