Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler made his return to practice on Wednesday ahead of this week's game against the Denver Broncos.
It was reported a few days ago that head coach Anthony Lynn was optimistic about Ekeler returning against the Broncos, and this is certainly a step in the right direction.
Ekeler has not played since the team's Week 14 game against the Cincinnati Bengals, as he's been dealing with neck and concussion issues.
However, he's not back on the practice field and figures to return to his complimentary role in the Chargers' backfield.

Ekeler has offered a nice change of pace in the team's offensive attack, with the two-year pro offering production both as a runner and a pass catcher this season.

It hasn't exactly been an ideal month for injuries for the Chargers, but with both Ekeler and Melvin Gordon now back in the mix, it should set up Lynn's group to be in a good spot entering the playoffs.
Despite the 22-10 loss to the Baltimore Ravens last weekend, the Chargers have an 11-4 record and figure to get a decent seed in the postseason if they can pick up the win against the Broncos.
With a loss, things would get a bit more interesting in terms of Los Angeles possibly moving down several spots.
But with Ekeler back, it should allow the Chargers to regain their rhythm on offense thanks to the plethora of offensive options on the roster.
