It appears the Los Angeles Chargers could be in a bit of trouble for their Week 9 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles. It appears as though rising star Justin Herbert is dealing with an injury, as he was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday.
According to Nick Shook, “Herbert landed on the report with a right-hand injury and an official practice status of limited. Herbert has been dealing with the injury since the Los Angeles Chargers' Week 3 win over the (Kansas City) Chiefs, but hasn't missed a game.”

Although Herbert has been playing through pain, he might have aggravated his throwing hand in Week 8 against the New England Patriots. Daniel Popper provides a clip of the game where he points out Herbert “looking at and flexing the hand after the play.”
This appears to be the play on which Justin Herbert injured his throwing hand. You can see him looking at and flexing the hand after the play. Based on Brandon Staley's comments today, the implication is that this injury is separate from what happened in Chiefs game. #Chargers pic.twitter.com/rytIa3c9Eg

It's never a good thing for a quarterback to injury his throwing hand, but it sounds like he's sustained a new injury on the same hand. It'll be interesting to see how Herbert and the Chargers bounce back from this, as his presence under center is necessary for the success of the franchise.
It's been a rough go for Justin Herbert the last few weeks, which makes sense as he's dealing with an injury in his throwing hand. Hopefully, he can overcome it and heal quickly. The Chargers are in the middle of the race for a playoff spot with just the Las Vegas Raiders ahead of them in the AFC West standings.
Herbert has played every game this season and has thrown for 1,994 passing yards along with 16 touchdowns. Los Angeles will live or die off of Herbert's performances, which has been shaky recently. Luckily for them, the Chargers go up against a struggling Eagles' team who is still searching for their identity.
For now, it's important to monitor Justin Herbert as any complications could be detrimental to LA. However, he was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, so the injury doesn't seem to be too serious.
