The Los Angeles Rams were successful against the Cleveland Browns in a rather one-sided affair last week. However, it was far from the cleanest game of football, as Aaron Donald got slapped with a fine for his high hit on Browns QB Baker Mayfield.

According to Michael David Smith of Pro Football Talk, the defensive tackle will be fined $21,056 for his unnecessary hit. Fortunately for Rams fans, that's the only thing he got for the hit, as he didn't get penalized with any other form of penalties.

Donald himself admitted that the tackle he made was a tad too rough to be sportsmanlike. He didn't defend himself at the slightest when asked about the hit he laid out on the reigning Rookie of the Year.

“Just tried to make a play and I guess I got a little high [on the hit on Mayfield],” Donald said, via Pro Football Talk's Darin Gantt. “That’s my mistake.”

His sack against Baker Mayfield was the first he had the entire season after posting an incredible 20.5 the prior season. One of the reasons why this happened was due to opposing defenses constantly putting bodies between him and the quarterback to slow him down.

He admitted that he's trying to find his groove again after being game-planned on by OCs. He said in an NFL article that he'll always be gunning for plays whenever the opportunity presents itself.

He has a chance to impose his will once more when the Rams play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers today. It's unlikely that opposing offensive linesmen will be able to fully stop Donald from doing what he wants.
