The playing status of Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff ahead of their playoff matchup against the Seattle Seahawks remains to be uncertain, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. Although he hasn't been completely ruled out of playing, he isn't expected to suit up either way as he is coming off from thumb surgery.

Backup playmaker John Wolford made a good account for himself in his first appearance this season as he slotted in for Goff in their Week 17 tilt against the Arizona Cardinals. The Wake Forest product came out with a respectable performance under center where he chalked up 231 yards on 22-of-38 passing from the field along with 56 rushing yards on six carries.

Although the Rams' aerial attack wasn't in full effect, the team's formidable defense held its own against the Cardinals' offense. The job was made easier for the Rams when opposing quarterback Kyler Murray went down with an ankle injury and only finished the game with 87 yards.

Without their starting quarterback, the Cardinals failed to get their offense going for the majority of the all-important game. The Los Angeles-based squad managed to squeak past the Cardinals for an 18-7 victory en route to a 10-6 record to finish the regular season. The Rams eventually arranged a playoff encounter against the Seahawks in the Wild Card round of the playoffs.

With Goff's playing status still up in the air, Rams head coach Sean McVay can only hope that John Wolford will perform better in a bid to upset the dominant Seahawks who are entering the game with a four-game winning streak.
