The Los Angeles Rams have a glaring weakness at the inside linebacker post, but fortunately for them, there's an available player in the market that can address that issue: Bobby Wagner.

Wagner remains unsigned after the Seattle Seahawks released him in a bid to save some money and lessen the cap hit on them. Of course there have been plenty of teams reported to have interest in the 31 year old, but the Rams appear to be the closest in getting a deal done for the eight-time Pro Bowler.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, there is “mutual interest” in doing a deal between the Rams and Wagner. In fact, the linebacker is visiting Los Angeles to discuss a possible deal.

Interestingly, the report came a day after it was revealed that the Rams have discussed the possibility of signing Bobby Wagner to address their defensive woes at linebacker. As Michael J. Duarte of NBC Sports shared, GM Les Snead met with the Los Angeles defensive staff to break down film and assess if Wagner would be a good fit for the team.

Considering the fact that they are meeting with Wagner, it is safe to assume that they like what they saw and how they can incorporate him into the Rams' system.

The likes of the New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys and Denver Broncos have been linked with Wagner, but he is certainly not limited with his options. The Rams make a ton of sense for him given the team's needs, and it is worth mentioning that he is from LA, so getting back to his roots is definitely another great option for him. Unfortunately for the Seahawks, it could be problematic for them since an NFC West division rival could get better and pose a ton of problems for them.

It remains to be see if the Rams will be able to pull off a deal, but if they do, they'll become even bigger threats with all the weapons they have at their disposal. It could also be a major factor in their bid to defend their title after winning Super Bowl 56.
