The Los Angeles Rams lost a heartbreaker to the surging Tennessee Titans 16 – 28. However, the highlight (or rather, lowlight of the game) for the Rams came early in the second quarter of the game. Veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford threw not one, but two costly interceptions that put the Titans up by two scores. It was a lead that the visiting team would not relinquish.

After the game, Stafford owned up to his mistakes. Here's what the Rams QB had to say about the game. (via Jourdan Rodrigue)

“Matthew Stafford: ‘I basically spotted them 14 points.' Says he knows he will get that cleaned up. Adds later he felt like the guys fought to get back into the game but also ‘I did too much damage (early).'”

The 14 points Stafford mentioned was in reference to his two interceptions. Inside their own 10, the Rams QB threw a wild pass that was picked off and eventually converted by the Titans. On their next possession, this time on their own 20, Titans safety Kevin Byard got a pick-6 off of another Stafford pass, quickly racking up 14 straight points for them.

To their credit, the Rams did try to come back into the game. However, the two-score deficit was just too much to handle for Stafford and co., as the Titans did just enough to stave off the now 7-2 Rams.

At the very least, Stafford owned up to his mistakes. It's nice to see that kind of accountability from your quarterback, and surely the Rams will come back stronger. They'll next face Jimmy Garoppolo and the San Francisco 49ers in Week 10, and they'll have plenty of time to prepare for that game.
