The Los Angeles Rams didn't waste any time as they started the offseason by going all-in on trading for veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford. The deal was eventually reported to have boosted the Rams' odds of winning the Super Bowl title in 2022.

Via David Fucillo of DraftKings:

“Prior to the trade, the Rams opened at DraftKings Sportsbook with +2200 odds to win Super Bowl 56 in 2022. That was tied with the Browns for ninth best. Following the trade, LA has improved to +1100, which is tied with the Buccaneers for third best behind the Chiefs and Packers.”

“The Rams have also improved to +500 to win the NFC title next season. They are tied with the Bucs behind the +450 Packers.”

Stafford's arrival favored the Rams and allowed them to gain a major increase from a +2200 to +1100 for the third-best odds which was tied with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Both teams are only trailing behind the top two favorites in the Kansas City Chiefs and the Green Bay Packers.

Los Angeles currently has a roster that finished with a respectable 10-6 record for the second spot in the NFC West division. Head coach Sean McVay and his squad managed to book a seat in the postseason where they dealt an upset victory to the Seattle Seahawks in the Wild Card Round with an injured Jared Goff under center.

They eventually bounced out of the playoffs after suffering a 32-18 loss to the Packers in the NFC Divisional Round. Despite their early exit, it is undeniable that the pieces are already set in place on both ends of the field for the Rams.

McVay is hoping that Matthew Stafford's arrival will allow the team to reach its potential, especially on offense. The upcoming season will see if the Rams can live up to the lofty expectations set around the team and ultimately return to the Super Bowl stage after a two-year absence.
