Cooper Kupp has been a huge part of the Los Angeles Rams' undefeated start to the 2018 NFL season, but has been forced to miss some time due to a knee injury. There is hope that he could come back in Week 8 against the Green Bay Packers, but there is no guarantee about that.
Head coach Sean McVay did give an update on Kupp's recovery and things sounded positive. Lindsey Thiry of ESPN shared McVay's statement that Kupp is progressing well from his knee injury.
The report did mention that McVay is uncertain about Kupp's availability for this week's matchup.
“Whether it’s this week or another week, hard to say right now. We’re just taking it a day at a time with him.”
Los Angeles has a 7-0 record heading into this week's game against the Packers. They are being viewed as heavy favorites against a Green Bay team that struggled to knock off the San Francisco 49ers last game. If the Rams play up to their full talent, there is a very good chance that they will blow the Packers out.
Article Continues BelowCooper Kupp has put together a huge start to the 2018 season despite his injury issues. He has caught 30 passes for 438 yards and five touchdowns in the six games that he has played. Those numbers have helped contribute to Jared Goff's massive season.
Add in the fact that Todd Gurley is playing like an MVP and the Rams have one of the league's most lethal offenses.
Even without Kupp on the field, the Rams have found ways to dismantle opposing defenses. At this point in the season, L.A. certainly appears to be the best team in football. The record doesn't lie, but the play on the field is dominant at a different level.
Expect to see Kupp make his return to the field either this week against the Packers or next week against the New Orleans Saints. He will be a welcome “re-addition” back to the lineup.
