The Ndamukong Suh saga still isn’t over. While the New York Jets have taken themselves out of the running by rescinding their contract offer, Suh is still mulling over his other offers from the Los Angeles Rams, New Orleans Saints, and Tennessee Titans. However, the Rams are reportedly in the driver’s seat to land the star defensive tackle’s signature.
Per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network:
Article Continues BelowThe #Rams appear to be the front-runner for his services. Suh hasn’t ruled the #Titans or #Saints out, and those close to him say he’s still open-minded. But Los Angeles has emerged as the team to beat in his protracted saga.
From a pure football perspective, it’s not hard to see why the Rams are considered the team to beat. Thanks to head coach Sean McVay, their offense did a complete 180-degree turn in just one season as they led the league in scoring last year. Jared Goff looks like the franchise quarterback the Rams envisioned when they took him No. 1 overall, while Todd Gurley has also emerged as a potential superstar running back.
And on defense, they’ve added a couple of important pieces to their secondary this offseason to shore things up on that side of the ball. Suh’s addition to a Rams defensive front that already features arguably the most dominant defensive player in the game in Aaron Donald has the potential to make LA into a legit Super Bowl contender.
Of course, Suh still has other factors he has to consider, including money, living situation, and overall fit. But in terms of getting the best chance to win on the field, the Rams should be his best bet over the Saints and Titans.
