The New York Giants are in a prime position to improve their team at the upcoming 2022 NFL Draft. The Giants are armed with the fifth and seventh picks in a draft that just so happens to feature talent at positions, such as the offensive line and defensive line/edge rusher, that the Giants have needs at. General manager Joe Schoen hasn't dismissed the idea of a draft day trade either, as there are plenty of teams that would like to angle themselves to where New York is in order to potentially select one of the lineman or quarterback prospects expected to be available. However, it's more likely that Schoen, who is a believer in building through the draft, holds onto both picks and makes two selections that will help kickstart the Giants rebuild. The Giants have a bevy of options with the 5th pick in the NFL Draft. Talented pass rusher Kayvon Thibodeaux should be available for the taking if New York opts to go that route. One of the top offensive lineman, Evan Neal or Ikem Ekwonu, should also be on the board if Schoen wants to start out by picking a lineman. That said, here are the three best players that the Giants should take with the 5th pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

3 Best Players The Giants Can Select With 5th Pick In NFL Draft
3. Kyle Hamilton
Kyle Hamilton would be filed under ‘best player available' option for Schoen and company. There are more pressing needs on the Giants' roster than a safety, though Hamilton's talent might be too much to pass up, particularly for a defense that just lost Jabril Peppers to the New England Patriots. NFL.com has compared the Notre Dame product to former Pro Bowl Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor. Per the scouting report, Hamilton is big enough to play closer to the line in run support but also fast enough to be a strong defender in pass coverage. The Giants don't have any player like that on their defense right now. If Hamilton is available at the fifth pick, the Gaints should at least consider him.

The NFL is a pass-heavy league right now, so it makes sense that defenses are beginning to prioritize defenders who can rush the passer. Well, there might be no better pass-rushing prospect in the 2022 NFL Draft then Oregon's Kayvon Thibodeaux. The 21-year-old was a force for the Ducks this past year, tallying seven sacks and 12 tackles for a loss. Thibodeaux would instantly inject some life into a Giants pass rush that totaled just 34 sacks this past year. New York needs to remember what made them successful in the past. Thibodeaux can help them get back to that brand of football.
1. Evan Neal
Evan Neal was frequently mocked as the number-one overall pick for a solid stretch there before the Jacksonville Jaguars ultimately decided to address the tackle position via the franchise tag. Neal, who is 6 feet 7 inches tall and 351 pounds, could be available at the fifth pick in what would be a dream scenario for the Giants. The Alabama product is regarded as the best pass protector in the draft, which should excite every Giants fan. Neal, along with Andrew Thomas, can be staples on the Giants' offensive line for years to come.
