The New York Giants just took defeat right out of the jaws of victory. With a field goal deciding the winner of their Week 2 matchup, it was somehow defensive end Dexter Lawrence that decided the game.
The Giants linebacker jumped offside right before Washington Football Team kicker Dustin Hopkins missed the go-ahead field goal, resulting in a yardage penalty and more importantly a re-do.

Giants fans know what happens next. With a second chance at life and a closer field goal attempt, Hopkins just barely got the kick in to seal the game for Washington. Safe to say Dexter Lawrence is now a wanted man on Twitter.

To add insult to injury, even Skip Bayless piled on Dexter Lawrence and the Giants. Not just for the offside gaffe, but for the earlier botched plays with the Darius Slayton touchdown pass drop and the holding call that wiped out a sweet TD run from quarterback Daniel Jones.
INCREDIBLE: Dexter Lawrence (17th overall pick in 2019) just cost the Giants a game they should've won by jumping offside as Washington missed the winning field goal. Giants also botched an easy TD pass and an electrifying TD run by Daniel Jones was nullified by an iffy hold.

This is a tough pill to swallow for the Giants, who battled back from multiple deficits in this contest. Had Lawrence not committed the infraction, if Slayton caught that wide open pass from Jones, or if the holding call didn't negate Daniel Jones' TD run, things could've been different. Instead they fall to 0-2.
