The New York Giants suffered quite a scare with quarterback Daniel Jones during the loss versus the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 14. Fortunately, there does not seem to be any lingering signs of the ankle injury.

Head coach Pat Shurmur has been hesitant to name a starter for Week 15 against the Miami Dolphins. Jones was spotted back at practice getting some limited work in, via Ralph Vacchiano of SNY:

This is certainly an encouraging update for New York. Although they are not playing for much at this point in the 2019 NFL season, the fact that Jones does not appear to be dealing with a severe injury is a positive sign for his health.

Despite the lackluster state of the NFC East, the Giants have long been ruled out of playoff contention. As a result, they may opt to take a cautious approach with Jones' recovery in order to ensure that he does not further aggravate the injury. After all, they made quite the investment to make him their franchise quarterback and he has already shown more than enough promise that he is up for the job.

It will be interesting to see if this opens the door for another start from Manning. His career winning percentage dipped below .500 with the overtime loss to the Eagles and it is safe to say that he would love nothing more than to get back on top. A favorable matchup against the Miami Dolphins could be just what he needs to potentially end the year on a high note.
