New York Giants fans hated to see it, but Eli Manning now has a losing regular-season record after the Philadelphia Eagles mounted a second-half comeback on Monday Night Football.

As it stands, he now has a regular-season record of 116-117, and CBS Sports HQ shared this detail with their Twitter followers.

This result puts a new low in the otherwise successful career of the long-time Giants quarterback. He's been long considered as a washed-up pass-caller who cannot throw a decent pass to save his life. However, those who watched the game knew how impressive he was in the pocket during his first game back as a starter for the Giants.

He threw two touchdowns for 203 yards. While these numbers are far from ideal, the fact that he didn't throw an interception is something that his harshest critics are quick to dismiss. He is being called a terrible quarterback who didn't deserve his Super Bowl wins based on his recent performances.

However, Eli Manning had a respectable career for himself. While he didn't win as much as his older brother Peyton, he gave the Giants years of winning records and fond memories. That in itself should earn him respect from the fans who keep on badmouthing him.

Unfortunately, even he knows that his time in New York is coming to an end. He wants to play as a starting QB, but the Giants are clearly moving forward with Daniel Jones in the pocket. With no space left for him, the only way he'll get the minutes he wants is by leaving.

While it's still uncertain whether he'll get to play the remaining games of the season, this loss isn't the ideal way for Manning to say goodbye to the Giants.
