New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning is trekking through another disappointing campaign that has seen their season drop quickly south winning just one out of their first seven games played.
This has thrust trade rumors around the franchise after the decision to trade cornerback Eli Apple a day after the Monday night loss to the Atlanta Falcons that has seen quarterback Eli Manning's name be thrust in the rumor mill. In response to that, Manning has voiced it would difficult to see himself in another uniform (h/t Charean Williams of Pro Football Talk).
Manning is in 15th season in the league that has all been spent with the Giants that saw him win a pair of Super Bowls that includes going to the playoffs. However, he has experienced more shortcomings missing the playoffs for the vast majority of his career with the franchise. He has brought a tremendous level of stability, but it hasn't exactly translated to the team experiencing a large amount of success.
The 37-year-old has reached the point of his career where he his play has continued to decline to the point where his future with the team has become a persistent question. Manning has been able to rack up yardage ranking sixth in with 2,061 passing yards and eighth with 69.0 percent completion rate.
Manning is still under contract through the 2019 campaign, which will mark the final year of his four-year, $84 million deal. It may just simply come down to the Giants making the decision to move on from him next the offseason.
