Jaxson Dart has been quite the revelation for the New York Giants. Thrust into the starting role after Russell Wilson's disappointing performances, the rookie quarterback has been electric for the Big Apple this season. His latest trick was turning in an incredible performance against the defending champions Philadelphia Eagles to stun their division rivals.
Dart has wowed fans with his arm for the most part. However, an underrated part of the rookie's game is his ability to scramble and run when the pocket collapses. Through his first three starts for the Giants, Dart has acquired at least 50 rushing yards in each of the games. That has put the rookie in elite territory, joining Jalen Hurts and Lamar Jackson as the only quarterbacks to do this in their debuts.
“Jaxson Dart is now the third quarterback in the Super Bowl era to run for at least 50 yards in each of his first three NFL starts, joining Lamar Jackson and Jalen Hurts,” Adam Schefter reported.
Dart had 58 yards on the ground and one rushing touchdown to his name. It was the perfect complement to Cam Skattebo also terrorizing the Eagles' run defense. The Giants' 2025 fourth-round pick ran for 98 yards and three touchdowns, putting on a show against their division rivals.
Dart was equally solid in the aerial attack as well. The Giants rookie completed 17 of his 25 pass attempts for 195 yards and a touchdown with no interceptions. It was a great game from the rookie against the defending champions, capitalizing on the Eagles' struggles to take a victory.
Unfortunately, Dart took a hard hit during the win and had to sit out for some time to get checked for a concussion. He was able to get back into the game, but the Giants' handling of Dart's potential concussion has been heavily scrutinized. The rookie will have a relatively long week to recover from the head trauma, as their Week 7 game is on Sunday night against the Denver Broncos.
