The New York Giants have officially made Kayvon Thibodeaux and Evan Neal professional football players. After picking two players who could each be an anchor in the trenches, the Giants have signed them to their rookie contracts.
Both of the Giants rookies received four-year deals with fifth-year options, according to Ralph Vacchiano of SNY. Thibodeaux, who was picked fifth overall, got a $20 million signing bonus and a contract worth $31.3 million in total. Neal was picked two selections later and received a $15 million signing bonus with a contract worth $24.6 million.

The Giants needed help in many areas entering the draft but especially needed help on both the offensive and defensive lines. Thibodeaux, a stellar pass rusher, and Neal, a rock-solid tackle, could each be stars that help anchor New York's line for a while. They both each have solid young players (Azeez Ojulari and Andrew Thomas) to team up with as they look to improve the Giants.
New York's rebuild will be a long one thanks to former general manager Dave Gettleman's gross incompetence. Joe Schoen inherited a stuffed salary cap book and holes everywhere you looked on the roster. The Giants will likely be bad for a while and will have to develop from within. Because of the talents they got early in the 2022 NFL Draft, they can start planting the seeds for the next strong team they have.
Although there remains plenty of work for the Giants' roster, locking in their two prized rookies is the first step to getting back to relevance.
