The New York Giants are coming off an impressive win over the Chicago Bears, but they are all but eliminated them from playoff contention heading into the final month of the season.
This has also brought into question how much longer the Giants are going to continue to roll with Eli Manning as the starting quarterback this year. According to Jordan Raanan of ESPN, head coach Pat Shurmur has voiced that the Giants will have Manning under center for Week 14 action against the Washington Redskins.

The Giants appear to be set to ride out the rest of the year with Manning as the starter despite their continued struggles on the field. New York has picked it up as of late, but the team has struggled to finish games the last two weeks after seeing them cough up a pair of double-digit leads against the Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears respectively, although New York did find a way to beat the Bears in overtime.
This is a decision that Shurmur looks to be firmly onboard with even if there isn't any more meaningful football left on the field this season. It may be a sign of respect for Manning given what he has meant to the franchise and what he has accomplished with them.
There is no true reason for them to suddenly go with a quarterback change now unless there is a sense that backup Kyle Lauletta could potentially show that he can be the long-term answer after Manning.
If not, the Giants may be best served to finish out the year while allowing the 37-year-old to prove that he may have some more gas left in the tank to possibly turn it around. It could also show that it is time for the franchise to finally move on from him.
