The New York Giants have their next head coach in place with former Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur. As he gets started, one of the largest components of correcting the Giants' offense will be figuring out how to best utilize All-Pro wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who has often times been the center of attention for his emotional outbursts on the sideline.

With that in mind, Shurmur believes he must figure out to translate that passion to the field, according to Josh Alper of Pro Football Talk.

“I need to get to know him,” Shurmur said. “I need to get to know what makes him tick.  I need to talk to him about what we’re looking for from a guy who plays from the New York Giants.”

Beckham Jr. is one of the game's premier talents at wide receiver, and he has been nothing short of a game-changer for the Giants. In his first three seasons, Beckham became the first player in league history to post at least 90 catches, 1,200 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns in all three campaigns. He is the fastest player to reach 300 career receptions and 4,000 career receiving yards.

The 25-year-old is expected to be ready in time for training camp after suffering a season-ending broken ankle in 2017. Shurmur will likely emphasize Beckham as a primary asset in the passing game by featuring him heavily in their weekly game-plans.

The only real concern around Beckham Jr. is his current contract situation, as he's set to enter the final year of his deal. The Giants have already stated that they plan to work out a new deal with their star wideout, probably this offseason to avoid any distractions during the 2018 campaign.
