Could Nick Foles be making his way to a Philadelphia Eagles NFC East division rival?

According to NFL Draft analyst Tony Pauline, the Giants are interested in signing Foles, who will become an unrestricted free agent in March. Pauline adds that New York was simply waiting to see whether or not the Eagles placed a franchise tag on Foles, which did not occur.

This seems to go against what Giants general manager Dave Gettleman stated earlier Wednesday, when he seemed to hint that the Giants would be following the Kansas City Chiefs' model of drafting a quarterback and letting him learn under a seasoned veteran for a year before turning him loose the next season, as the Chiefs did with Patrick Mahomes.

That appeared to be an indication that New York would draft a quarterback and also bring Eli Manning back for another season and allow Manning to mentor the rookie signal-caller before finally passing the torch to the youngster in 2020.

Foles is coming off of a season in which he made five starts in relief of the injured Carson Wentz and threw for 1,413 yards, seven touchdowns and four interceptions while completing 72.3 percent of his passes and registering a passer rating of 96.

Foles then guided the Eagles to a Wild Card Round playoff win over the Chicago Bears before falling to the New Orleans Saints in the Divisional Round.

The 30-year-old's career has certainly been an odd one.

While he has no established track record as a starting quarterback in the NFL, he has a Super Bowl run under his belt after stepping in for an injured Wentz in December 2017 and then leading Philadelphia to its first-ever Super Bowl title.
