The New York Giants are ushering in a new era during the 2022 NFL season with new head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen. But they are also throwing it back to the Lawrence Taylor era with some new uniforms.
The Giants released a hype video for their new uniforms, which are modeled after their kits from the 1980s and 1990s. The video features Taylor handing over the new uniforms to Saquon Barkley. Leonard Williams, Xavier McKinney, Blake Martinez, Azeez Ojulari, Andrew Thomas and Daniel Jones all model the new uniform, which will be worn twice this season.

New York's new jerseys feature red outlines on the numbers, collar and arm holes. The helmets are navy blue instead of their typical royal blue and utilize the logo that says “Giants” rather than the typical “NY” logo. In addition to the uniform rehash, the Giants will use a throwback end-zone design.
The Giants wore these uniforms during their victories in Super Bowl XXI and Super Bowl XXV, the first two of their team history. Taylor wore the uniform design during his Hall of Fame career. In recent years, they used part of the old uniforms. Their color rush uniforms utilize the wordmark logo along with the all-white uniforms.
As the team looks to bounce back to relevance, they will do so in style. Giants fans will see the new uniforms in action against the Chicago Bears on October 2nd and the Washington Commanders on December 4th.
