With the 2017 season coming to a close this Sunday, the next course of action for many teams is preparing for the 2018 NFL Draft. Among its most notable prospects is USC quarterback Sam Darnold.

Darnold is projected to go as high as No. 1 overall in this year's draft due to the bevy of teams with needs at quarterback. He has not ruled out any team interested in acquiring his services, saying he'll be happy wherever he ends up.

According to Steve Serby of the New York Post, Darnold is excited at the prospect of potentially playing for a team like the New York Giants:

“It would be amazing. If I do get drafted by New York and he was there, it’d be an amazing opportunity to get better.”

Not to be completely ruled out, he also threw in the New York Jets as another team he would be excited to play for.

“It would be awesome to play for them as well,” Darnold said of the Jets.

Darnold's comments may seem a bit cliche considering the cookie-cutter responses. However, playing in a city like New York certainly comes with its fair share of attention that can often be overwhelming for young quarterbacks. That said, it seems Darnold is not afraid of the pressure that comes with playing in the largest media market in the nation after a decorated career at USC.

The Giants are currently in prime position to add Darnold with the second overall pick. However, New York has been adamant about quarterback Eli Manning's fixture under center for the time being. Meanwhile, it is unlikely that a top prospect like Darnold will drop to the Jets at sixth overall.
