The Washington Redskins want to see Dwayne Haskins finish the season strong, but an injury may prevent him from doing so. According to the Redskins' official Twitter account, Haskins is questionable to return on Sunday versus the New York Giants after suffering an ankle injury.

The rookie quarterback was injured after being sacked by Lorenzo Carter and Markus Golden to begin the third quarter. Immediately after the play, Haskins was unable to put any weight on his ankle and was carted off the field.

Before leaving the game, Dwayne Haskins was on his way to having one of the best games of his young career. The Ohio State product had completed 12 of his 15 attempts for 133 yards and two touchdowns.

In his first nine games in the NFL, Haskins now has 1,365 yards, seven touchdowns, and seven interceptions. While the numbers aren't overly impressive, he's shown flashes of being a franchise quarterback in the nation's capital.

Due to Haskins undergoing some tests in the locker room, Case Keenum has replaced him under center. Of course, Keenum began the season as the starting quarterback and spent seven games as the starter.

The Redskins have been eliminated from the playoffs for plenty of weeks. Therefore, the end of this season can be used as a building block for the young players on the roster.

Provided that, Washington is undoubtedly hoping for the best with Haskins and his ankle. In the event that the injury could hinder his play, the Redskins could also choose to rest him for the final week of the season to assure he's ready for the 2020 season.
