In spite of the fact that the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football squad had a relatively memorable season last term, the program took a significant hit in the recently-concluded first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Not a single player from Notre Dame was selected in the first round of this year's draft, but Day 2 saw linebacker Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah get picked 52nd overall in the second round by the Cleveland Browns after teammates Liam Eichenberg and Aaron Banks were selected not long before.

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah had a tremendous senior year with Notre Dame last season. Aside from being named as the ACC Defensive Player of the Year, he also bagged the Butkus Award while also being named as an All-American unanimously.

Owusu-Koramoah had a rocky start to his career with the Fighting Irish. He failed to make an impact on the team as a freshman as he was unable to play in a single game as a rookie. Injuries then got in the way of his development as a sophomore, and it wasn't until his third year that he finally made his mark for Notre Dame. Owusu-Koramoah more than made up for lost time as a senior, finishing the season as the best linebacker of the nation.

Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah will now hope to bring the same fire to the Browns. It looks like he already possesses the tools needed to succeed in the NFL, and at this point, he could very well turn out to be one of the biggest steals of the draft.
