Acquiring a safety with the All-Pro talent of Jamal Adams was likely a no brainer for Seattle Seahawks general manager John Schneider. But when considering specific factors that will play into at least 2020, Schneider had some additional intrigue as to why he wanted to bring the former New York Jet aboard.

So adding a guy like Jamal, who has that versatility to play down in the box and play in the hole and play man coverage, is really important to us.”
It's not often that an opposing tight end gets name dropped as a reason that an organization chose to bring aboard a new talent. But Kittle, who was an All-Pro last season, reeled off a seven reception, 86-yard performance in his lone matchup against Seattle in 2019.
The Seahawks have not yet given Adams the extension that he so highly coveted prior to departing New York, but when looking at the package that they parted with to acquire his services (two first-round draft picks, safety Bradley McDougald, and a third-round draft choice), it's likely that the Adams-Kittle showdown could be one that NFC West fans will get used to over the next few seasons.
