The star safety is in the final year of his contract, which will pay him $8.5 million. While he has indicated that he’d like to stay in Seattle past this season, it seems clear with his no-show in the first day of workouts that he’d like to get a new deal done first before setting foot on the field or the team's facility again.

And given the Seahawks’ willingness to part ways with star-caliber players this offseason – Richard Sherman, Michael Bennett, Jimmy Graham, Sheldon Richardson, etc. – as well as their admission that they’re listening to offers for Thomas, a potential divorce remains on the table.
The Seahawks have reportedly asked for a first- and a third-round pick for Thomas, which has likely spooked a number of teams away. The Dallas Cowboys are one known suitor for Thomas, and they are still holding out hope that the Seahawks’ price for Thomas can still drop.
If Thomas does follow through with his threat to hold out until he gets a new deal, that may put a bit more pressure on the Seahawks to lower their price and finally part ways with the All-Pro safety.
