One person who will not be returning to Season 3 is Douglas Mackinnon. He was the executive producer and co-showrunner for the first two seasons. The producer revealed on Instagram his departure from Good Omens.
The news of Mackinnon's exit worried some about the show's future, and it's still likely Season 3 is on the way.
Article Continues BelowLast August, Season 2 was released and supposedly did very well on Prime Video. They stated it was their worldwide #1 someday on the streaming platform.
In August, Gaiman responded to a fan question on X about Season 3 and wrote, “It's planned and plotted, and if there weren't a Writers Strike on, I'd be writing it right now.”
Gaiman created the series and co-authored the novel Good Omens with Terry Pratchett, on which the Prime series is based. The creator indicated that Season 3 would draw from the book sequel.
The second season is six episodes and explores a storyline that deals with the friendship between Aziraphale (Sheen), a rather fussy angel, and the demon Crowley (Tennant). They've been on Earth since the beginning, and the Apocalypse was thwarted. Azirphale and Crowley go back to easy living with mortals in London when a surprising mystery is brought forth by an unexpected messenger.
Fingers crossed for Good Omens Season 3. And as of now, it sounds likely.
