Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay has been the subject of rumors since his team hoisted the Lombardi Trophy. First, McVay was rumored to be considering retirement, something that was refuted by his girlfriend. Then, rumors began to swirl that McVay was being courted for a role as a television analyst. On Friday, McVay made a shocking announcement on his plans regarding the television gig, as reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Per Schefter, Sean McVay will not be pursuing any opportunities as a television analyst and will be focusing his attention on helping the Rams defend their Super Bowl title. While the rumors were certainly heating up, given the large salaries rumored to be on the table for him with a television gig.

McVay would have been leaving the game on top, but there's also the fact that he would be leaving perhaps the most coveted head coaching position in the sport– were it to open- for a field where he has no experience.

How the Rams' free agency situation unfolds remains to be seen, though they have as good a shot to repeat as champions as any of the last few teams to win the big game.

The prospect of winning another Super Bowl proved to be too enticing for Sean McVay. Who can blame him?
