Some players dislike “Thursday Night Football,” more hate it, very few love it, and Los Angeles Rams star Todd Gurley thinks it's the dumbest thing ever.

Gurley's Rams will play against the Seahawks, in Seattle, on Thursday. The running back has made it known that he dislikes Thursday night and international games. On Sunday, following a 55-40 home loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, he stayed on that course.

“You know how I feel about Thursday night games,” Gurley said when asked how the short week would alter his preparation, via ESPN. “I feel like they are the dumbest thing ever.”

Gurley, who tallied 70 total yards and two touchdowns off 12 touches on Sunday, isn't worried that the Rams will lose on Sunday against the 3-1 Seahawks. Instead, he's concerned that playing in four days will hinder Los Angeles' recovery efforts; citing that Thursday's are the time players begin feeling healthy again.

“For the most part, if you aren't really battling injuries or stuff like that, Thursday is kind of like a day you usually feel good anyway,” Gurley said. “They played on Sunday as well. … We just have a quick turnaround to go up to Seattle.”

According to ESPN's Lindsey Thiry, the Rams have a strategy to attack the quick turnaround: starting recovery ASAP. The team brought exercise bikes and massage tables into their postgame locker room Sunday to start their recovery efforts.

Nonetheless, Gurley isn't the only one to complain about “Thursday Night Football.” It gives players less time to heal up, in turn, affecting their ability to put on a show after doing so just days before.
