Don't call Prince William and Princess Catherine a couple of basic 40-somethings. These two hipsters are upping their social media game recently, as evidenced by changes to the couple's recent Instagram posts and the subsequent reaction from fans.

The royal couple, also known as the Prince and Princess of Wales, have more followers than William has hair follicles at this point, boasting over 15 million fans on Instagram from their official account. Their recent posts have been garnering a lot of attention and likes, along with glowing comments.

Users have said things like “Whoever has taken over their social media needs a major raise!!”

Another comment read, “Please never fire your current social media marketing team.”

Yet another follower noted, “Prince William, you are doing such an awesome job. And to the KP social media team, thank you for the detailed captions.”

The improved social media savviness seems to be a conscientious attempt for Prince William and Princess Kate to curry favor with their fans, particularly from the younger demos. So much negative press attention has been directed toward them lately stemming from their feud with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, ever since Harry and Meghan decided to leave their royal posts.

Harry's tell-all memoir and the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan certainly didn't help their image. Now they're on the social media rebound, trying to re-ingratiate themselves with their followers in hopes of making the centuries-old British monarchy seem like a next-level, fire system of rule that's slayin' and totes not thirsty! Hashtag good luck with that, William and Kate.
