Sara McMann finds herself in an excellent position after her big win at UFC Columbus. The former title challenger wants to get back in the title picture and has the perfect name next.

Sara McMann recently fought the now UFC bantamweight champion, Julianna Pena and she sees her opportunity to fight her again. McMann wants to face the last person to beat Pena, Germaine de Randamie.

“I want to fight Germaine de Randamie,” McMann told reporters, including MMA Junkie, at the UFC on ESPN 33 post-fight press conference. “I believe I can beat her and she’s the last girl to beat Peña and I want a rematch against Peña. If I beat the girl who beat Peña and I beat someone that’s a muay Thai world champ, a UFC champ and has the ranking and accolades as Germaine, then there’s no reason that I shouldn’t get a rematch.

She continued, “The way I feel is I’ll go out there and fight somebody who has been doing this a long time and is very seasoned and good, and I have the utmost respect for her, but if I don’t beat her, I don’t feel like I deserve it and then I have to put together a string of wins. But if I go out and beat her, I feel like that’s a very strong case for me to be the next one in line.”

Sara McMann vs Germaine de Randamie would be an excellent fight next and would help both women get close to a UFC bantamweight title shot. Amanda Nunes is currently next for Julianna Pena when they both return to the cage later this year.
