Shroud's 2022 Net Worth, Shroud

Shroud’s net worth in 2022 is estimated to be $20 million. This is agreed upon by multiple reputable sources such as Celebrity Net Worth.

Michael Grzesiek was born on June 2nd, 1994, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. His father introduced him to video games at a young age. He was also the one to get Michael hooked on Counter-Strike.

Shroud started to stream on Twitch at the age of 17, but averaged zero users for the entirety of 2011. Despite lacking a following, he continued to hone his skills by joining teams such as Exertus Sports and Manajuma of the E-Sports Entertainment Association League.

In 2014, he was signed by the professional Esports company Cloud9, based in California. That prompted Shroud to move to Orange County to pursue a full-time career in competitive gaming. Two years later, he helped Cloud9 win the ESL Pro League Season 4. He also helped them finish second in ESL One Cologne 2017.

On April 18th, 2018, Shroud left Cloud9 and officially retired from professional Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) competition.

“As of today, I am officially retiring from competitive Counter-Strike… Over the past four months alone, you [the fans] have spent over 1.3 billion minutes watching me do what I love doing. You are the reason I can take this leap, and why I can’t wait to take it to the next level,” Shroud said in a statement.

In his couple of years as a professional CS:GO player, Shroud helped Cloud9 earn almost $700,000 in prize money.

After his professional career, Shroud eventually focused on his transition to becoming a full-time streamer on Twitch. Aside from Counter-Strike, he played a multitude of games in his streams such as Fortnite Battle Royal, Apex Legends, Call of Duty, World of Warcraft and Escape from Tarkov.

In October 2019, Shroud followed Ninja’s footsteps and moved from Twitch to Mixer, Microsoft’s streaming platform. However, not even one year after his move, Microsoft announced it would be shutting down the streaming platform in order to partner with Facebook Gaming.

Reports emerged that Facebook offered millions, almost double their original Mixer contracts, to Ninja and Shroud to get them to stream on Facebook Gaming. However, the popular streamers forced the company to buy them out, earning Shroud an estimated $10 million payout from Mixer.

“I appreciate the Mixer community and everything I've been able to do on the platform,” he said. “I love you guys and am figuring out my next steps.”

On August 11th, 2020, Shroud announced that he would be returning to Twitch to stream exclusively on the platform. On his first day back streaming with Twitch, he garnered over 516,000 viewers.

“I don’t know why there are so many of you here, but I appreciate it,” Grzesiek said on stream. “I’m just a normal dude who likes to play games a lot. It’s crazy, man. Crazy.”
