The Suns were always going to do their best to bring back Payne, but this contract is an absolute steal for one of the better backup guards in the NBA.
Payne was fantastic for the Suns and really stepped up when Chris Paul was forced to miss time after he was injured, so this contract is definitely worth the money.
The Suns always wanted to bring back whoever they could, especially after a six-game NBA Finals series, one that unfortunately ended in a loss at the hands of the Milwaukee Bucks, led by superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo, who walked away with the Finals MVP.
The Suns bringing back their two point guards was always going to be among their top priorities, and they were able to get them done within an hour of the wild frenzy that is NBA free agency.
Stay tuned for more moves across the league in what has already been a hectic afternoon.
