The Houston Texans are in an interesting situation with Deshaun Watson, but he isn't the only marquee member of the roster that could be on his way out. According to the NFL Network's James Palmer, teammates and coaches on the Texans believe that J.J. Watt has played his final down with Houston.

Watt enters the upcoming season with one year remaining on his current contract. However, if Watt were to be released or traded, the Texans would create $17.5 million in cap savings, allowing them to work toward fixing their cap situation.

Throughout the 2020 season, Watt seemed displeased with the Houston organization, and how they performed despite a strong showing from Watson at quarterback. Seeing that Watt iterated that he doesn't want to be part of a rebuild, the Texans may allow the All-Pro pass rusher to play elsewhere in 2021.

The two-time Defensive Player of the Year would finish the 2020 season with five sacks, 14 tackles for loss, and 17 quarterback hits. Also, his seven pass deflections were the most in his career since the 2015 season, which was the last time he won the NFL's Defensive Player of the Year award.

With Watt turning 32 years old in March, and his injury concerns in recent years, he may not be the same dominant player he once was. But if he were to be made available by the Texans, there would undoubtedly be multiple teams lining up to acquire him.

Regardless of what happens, it appears likely that Watt is going to be in a new uniform at the beginning of the 2021 season.
