The Oklahoma City Thunder selected Chet Holmgren out of Gonzaga with the second overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft. Holmgren is expected to fit right in with the Thunder, who have an up-and-coming core of talented young players. OKC is currently led by emerging star Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Holmgren shared a special message for his new Thunder teammate after being drafted by OKC, via NBA on Twitter.

“I definitely appreciate my new teammate Shai,” Holmgren said. “He's got the drip for sure. We were just talking about it over there… how much competition I have now on the NBA tunnel walkthroughs. So should be great.”

He stated prior to the NBA Draft that he expected to be the best one dressed at the event. So there is no question that Holmgren takes pride in his fashion. And the Thunder won't mind one bit as long as his main focus is on the court.

The Thunder are a team on the rise. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a tremendous talent. Josh Giddey broke out last season. Luguentz Dort also displayed potential this past year.

But adding a player such as Chet Holmgren provides the team with a quality option in the post. Holmgren stands 7-foot tall and features a versatile skillset. However, he only weighs 190 pounds and his biggest weakness is physical strength. If he can add some muscle moving forward, Holmgren has a realistic chance of becoming a superstar in the league.

Holmgren, Gilegous-Alexander, and Giddey will aim to lead the Thunder back to the postseason in 2022-2023.
