Minnesota Timberwolves star Anthony Edwards is progressing well in his recovery from a recent ankle injury. However, he remains questionable to play for the team, with a battle against the New York Knicks set on Monday, per NBA insider Marc Stein.

Edwards is still nursing a right ankle sprain, though the fact that he's listed as “questionable” and not “out” suggests that his injury is not as serious as initially believed. For what it's worth, Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch recently noted that the explosive guard is out indefinitely because of the issue.

In the latest update, Minnesota has labeled Edwards as day-to-day on a return. The 21-year-old has also removed the walking boot he had in the aftermath of the injury, signifying that he has made strides in getting back to full health.

Of course there's a chance that Edwards misses the game against the Knicks, which would be the second straight game he would miss after sitting out Saturday's showdown with the Toronto Raptors. Nonetheless, even if he sits out once again, it doesn't look like Timberwolves fans will have to worry that much about his potential return soon.

Minnesota really needs Anthony Edwards' help, especially with the team now losing two straight without him. The Timberwolves also fell to the Chicago Bulls in double overtime last Friday after Ant-Man played in just eight minutes in the contest following his injury.

For now, Timberwolves fans can only stay patient and hope for the best in Edwards' recovery.
