Glen Taylor is looking to sell the Minnesota Timberwolves for over $1 billion, per Jon Krawczynski and Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Taylor is exploring options to sell the Timberwolves, though he has made it clear to any group interested that the franchise must stay in Minnesota.

Wolves icon and NBA Hall of Famer Kevin Garnett is preparing to submit a bid. It's worth mentioning, though, that KG and Taylor don't have a good relationship.

One of the groups that would have no issue with that edict involves Wolves legend Kevin Garnett, who is preparing to submit a bid, sources told The Athletic’s Shams Charania. Glen Taylor declined to identify the groups who have expressed interest or set a price range, but sources have told The Athletic that the asking price will exceed $1 billion.

The Timberwolves franchise has been around since 1989, but it has only made the postseason nine times. Taylor saved the team from extinction in 1994. Minnesota has an all-time winning percentage of just 39.6 percent.

Fans of the Timberwolves are hoping Taylor sells the franchise to Garnett, who shockingly still doesn't have his No. 21 jersey retired by the team despite being the best Minnesota player ever.

The Big Ticket played in 927 games with the Wolves during his first stint with the team from 1996 to 2007. Garnett averaged 20.5 points, 11.4 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 1.7 blocks while making 10 All-Star appearances. He also won the 2004 MVP Award.

KG is Minnesota’s all-time leader in games played, minutes, field goals, free-throws, total rebounds, assists, steals, blocks and points. It would be neat if he was able to own the Timberwolves and turn around the organization.
