Another animal rights protestor from the activist group Direct Action Everywhere attempted to make a scene at the Minnesota Timberwolves' Game 4 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday night. This was the third such disruption of a Timberwolves game in the last 10 days.

This time, security was all over it. The protestor was seated right behind Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor and dressed up as a referee. Early in the third quarter, she made a run for the court. However, a guard was right on top of it, immediately tackling her in savage fashion and arresting her. He had been watching her the whole time:

Now that is some form tackle. Here's another look from Direct Action Everywhere, complete with a press release:

These protests are happening because of the poor treatment of chickens at Taylor's Rembdrant Enterprises. An outbreak of bird flu at the farm resulted in the brutal killing of millions of chickens.

The first protest happened during the Timberwolves' play-in game against the Los Angeles Clippers, with a woman gluing herself to the court. Then in Game 1 of this first-round series in Memphis, a woman chained herself to the basket stanchion after throwing flyers on the court while wearing a “Glen Taylor Roasts Animal Alive” shirt.

Security finally seemed to be ready for this one, though. We'll see if Direct Action Everywhere tries any more protests during the Timberwolves' playoff run. This latest attempt was quite brash, especially given it was accompanied by a video and a press release, so they seemed pretty determined to keep this going.
