The brother of Tennessee Titans wide receiver Corey Davis tragically passed away on Wednesday after a bout with cancer. Titus Davis died at the age of just 27, and before his passing, he made sure to leave a message for his younger brother, Corey.

According to the Titans WR, it was actually his brother's dying wish to have him play just one night after his death:

“As he was laying there all he kept telling my sister was to tell me to play, regardless of what happens,” Davis said, via TennesseeTitans.com (h/t Michael David Smith of NBC Sports). “He just kept telling me to play, telling me to play throughout the whole process. That’s my biggest fan. Since I was a little kid I was always chasing after him and trying to be like him. I wore his number every year to copy him. He thought it was annoying, but I looked up to him tremendously. That was my idol, my hero. I tried to honor him tonight.”

That's a heart-wrenching story right there, and that's not a situation anybody would like to be in. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Davis and the rest of his family in these trying times.

Davis had a relatively good outing for the Titans on Thursday in a loss to the Minneapolis Colts. The 25-year-old wide receiver caught 5-of-6 targets for a 67-yard gain, as he paced Tennessee in targets, catches, and yards in the 34-17 loss. Davis was obviously playing some inspired football, and we're sure that he made his brother proud.
