Stephen Curry’s squeaky-clean, good-guy image has taken a significant hit recently in large part due to a viral video of Curry seemingly ignoring a 10-year-old boy wearing a Curry jersey and begging for the Golden State Warriors superstar’s autograph.

However, Curry’s wife, Ayesha, has leaped to her husband’s defense on Twitter. After offering up her explanation as to what really went down in that now infamous video making the rounds on the internet, she proceeds to blast the viral tweet, suggesting it was all just a ruse to gain more followers.

Obviously, Ayesha is not an unbiased commenter in this incident. She clearly has a stake in the game seeing as her beloved husband is under attack, and she will undoubtedly come to his defense. That’s why her views should be taken with a grain of salt.

But while her story to explain away Curry’s apparent snub of a young fan might not fly with some people, it still seems plausible. Steph’s lengthy track record of being a legitimately good guy should at least give him some benefit of the doubt.

Unless someone comes up with some overwhelming evidence to support either side, no one but Stephen Curry himself will truly know what was really going on in that video. And even if he does come out and corroborate his wife’s story, people will still believe what they want to believe based on how they feel about him.
