Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green will return to the lineup Wednesday against the Milwaukee Bucks after resting from an ankle injury Monday, according to Connor Letourneau of the San Francisco Chronicle. D'Angelo Russell will miss his fifth straight game with a right shoulder injury.

The Warriors have now racked up five losses to follow a season-high four-game winning streak before the end of 2019. They now stand at 9-29 as they approach the halfway mark of the 2019-20 season.

This has been far from what the Warriors envisioned after losing Kevin Durant in free agency, compounded with a Klay Thompson torn ACL from Game 6 of the NBA Finals and a Stephen Curry broken left hand that could put him out until well after the All-Star Game, when he's set to be reevaluated.

Green was ejected during Saturday's game against the Detroit Pistons, letting his frustration get the best of him and missing the second half of the outing. It's no coincidence that his rest day fell following his outburst, as head coach Steve Kerr noted losing has taken a toll on his dynamic defender.

The month of January doesn't get much easier for an injury-plagued Warriors roster, soon taking on the Los Angeles Clippers and the surging Memphis Grizzlies on the road, then returning home to face the Dallas Mavericks and Denver Nuggets.

The Warriors are in the running for one of the worst records in the league, likely bound for a top-five selection in this year's NBA Draft in the cellar of the West and just ahead of the 8-29 Atlanta Hawks.
